DEREK T NORTON CERAMICS

Derek Tasker Norton is a South African artist based in São Paulo Brazil who specialises in hand built burnished Pottery  and contempory ceramic forms andsculptures. Using age old tecniques each piece is hand built, sculpted and burnished smooth before firing, then, using alternative firing techniques such as Saggar, Raku and Obvara the pieces are fired several times until the desired finish is acheived. 
Derek Tasker Norton é um  ceramista Sul-Africano radicado em São Paulo, Brasil, especializado em peças  construídas à mão e polidas. Utilizando técnicas ancestrais, cada obra é moldada manualmente, esculpida e brunida antes da queima. Em seguida, por meio de métodos de queimas alternativos como Saggar, Raku e Obvara, as peças são queimadas diversas vezes até que o acabamento desejado  seja alcançado.
